Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

About the Maker

My name is Francis, and I’m the maker behind every piece you see here.

I’m a woodturner, woodworker, former chef and restauranteur. For my

entire career, I’ve worked with my hands—first in professional kitchens,

and now in the workshop. While the materials have changed, my philosophy hasn’t. Good work takes patience. It takes attention. And it takes respect

for the materials in front of you.

Woodturning became a natural extension of everything I learned as a chef.

Just like food, wood has its own character—grain, movement, flaws, and surprises. These aren’t problems to erase, but features to understand and work with. Every piece I make is shaped slowly and carefully, and finished by hand. I try to let the wood speak for itself.

In recent years, working with wood has become a form of grounding for me. The foraging for material, the rhythm of the lathe, the quiet calm focus of creation—the act of making something honest and functional—has been deeply meaningful. My work is rooted in presence: showing up, paying attention, and doing things with care.

Each piece is individually made one at a time from thoughtfully selected woods and finished with food-safe, durable finishes meant to be used and enjoyed—not just looked at (though please do look at them).

Thank you for being here, for supporting handmade work, and for valuing objects that carry a human story.
