Turkish Walnut Sculptural Bowl – Hand Turned Functional Art – 8” x 2”

Hand turned from a stunning single piece of Turkish walnut, this sculptural bowl was intentionally shaped to preserve as much of the natural character and flowing grain of the wood as possible. Rather than forcing an aggressive form, I chose soft continuous curves and a low organic profile that allows the walnut’s movement, depth, and burl-like figure to speak for itself. The result is a piece that feels equally at home as functional art, a centerpiece bowl, or a tactile object meant simply to be picked up and appreciated. The smooth flowing rim and weighted form give this piece an incredibly satisfying in-hand feel while the rich natural tones of the Turkish walnut shift beautifully in changing light. Finished by hand with food-safe Danish oil and wax.
